Privacy Policy
Effective June 8, 2026.
1. What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy describes how HouseIntel ("we," "us") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our website (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
HouseIntel currently operates as a static informational site and collects only the limited information necessary to operate and improve the Site:
- Analytics data — aggregated, non-personally-identifying information about which pages are visited, referring URL, browser type, and approximate region. We use this data solely to understand which topics readers find useful and to improve content.
- Cookies — the Site may set strictly necessary cookies for basic functioning. We do not currently set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Decision Pack purchase data — when monetization is active (not currently active as of this Policy's draft date), our payment processor collects billing details necessary to process the purchase. HouseIntel does not directly store full payment-card details.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
- understand reader interests and prioritize editorial work;
- respond to requests, questions, or feedback you send us;
- comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We share information only with the limited categories of third parties necessary to operate the Site:
- analytics vendor (aggregated traffic data);
- hosting provider (Site delivery);
- payment processor (Decision Pack purchases, when monetization is active);
- legal authorities, if required by valid legal process.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act give you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you;
- Delete personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising);
- Limit our use of sensitive personal information.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the address in Section 10. We will respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 45 days, extendable to 90 days when reasonably necessary). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
6. Data Retention
We retain analytics data in aggregated form for as long as it remains useful for understanding reader interests. We retain purchase records for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically seven years). We delete personal information when no longer needed for the purposes described in this Policy, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us using the address in Section 10 and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The "Effective" date at the top of this Policy reflects the current version. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
